ROLE SUMMARYThe British College of Gavá, an IB World School, is a forward-thinking and innovative school situated just south of the city of Barcelona. The school is rapidly expanding and is searching for proactive, passionate, highly effective classroom practitioners to join the growing team. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Primary Music teacher (1 year maternity cover) to join the school's Arts Faculty.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESTo deliver high quality teaching and learning in line with the UK National Curriculum and local requirements.To plan, feedback and teach in line with school and departmental procedures.To plan, prepare and deliver schemes of work in accordance with school policies.To maintain a working knowledge of National Curriculum & other documents.To maintain records of pupils' progress including all statutory documents required by the UK DFE.To produce reports and grades for pupils as per the school calendar.To conduct termly interviews with parents to discuss and explain their child's performance and progress in school.To provide and maintain an attractive and stimulating environment in which to foster effective teaching and learning.To monitor progress and the effectiveness of class work and to evaluate and modify planning and teaching as necessary.To differentiate accordingly according to the students' needs.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVEBA in Education with QTS or PGCE.Strong experience teaching the UK National Curriculum.Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children.Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age and ethnic background.A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life.Have a natural ability to develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with children and with other adults.Be a forward-thinking professional with 'creative' capabilities; able to think laterally and help to present material in exciting ways.Possess a high level of organisational and time management skills.The capabilities and the desire to be an integral 'team player' working towards common goals and enjoying successes together.Have the disposition to work in a multinational environment based on mutual care and respect.Willingness to contribute to the school's extra-curricular programme.SAFEGUARDING STATEMENTInspired Education Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment.
