About the Role The Technology Product Portfolio Lead will drive the definition and implementation of an agile, product centric operating model in the Technology and Systems team of the Patient Safety and Pharmacovigilance (PSPV) function in Novartis.
Responsible for ensuring the proper engagement and resource allocation for key strategic and operational programs and projects that impact the technology capabilities and system landscape of PSPV.
Manages the portfolio of programs, projects, and operational activities for the Technology and Systems teams and proactively leads the identification and communication of risks and issues horizontally and vertically.
Your key responsibilities, but not limited to: Lead the definition and implementation of the technology product strategy for PSPV in alignment with the leadership team and the global IT organization.
Drive the introduction of agile methodology principles and practices within the Technology and Systems team, including designing and implementing the required associate training and upskilling programs.
Manage the technology project and investment portfolio for PSPV in alignment with the leadership team and global IT organization, ensuring robust business case definition and ROI measurement.
Lead the business case and roadmap development for technology products and manage the funding approval process through the required governance forums.
Act as change management and communication lead for the Technology Systems team in PSPV, ensuring timely updates on project and operational milestones, achievements, issues and risks to the appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
Build relationship with strategic partners and leverage their capabilities to deliver on core and differentiated PSPV technology products/services.
Engage with and advise function leadership on the most appropriate/best practice supplier engagement models, location footprint, and supplier strategy.
Actively manage the relationship and engagement with key service providers to drive a high performance and "one team" mindset across Technology Systems.
Engage actively with Industry peers and bring outside-in perspectives on the emerging PSPV ecosystem.
Lead key projects and programs with impact to the technology capabilities of PSPV ensuring timely delivery of high quality milestones in alignment with business requirements.
Desirable skills: 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
5+ years of multi / cross functional international leadership experience.
3+ years in program management/leadership role.
Excellent project / program management skills.
Proven ability to lead organizational change management initiatives.
Leadership presence with the ability to present and interact with senior management.
Ability to build strong and trusted relationships with senior level business and technical partners.
Proven track record in working across a matrix organization and demonstrates expert skills in building partnerships, negotiating agreements; excels at collaboration with diverse internal and external organizations.
Educational Background: University education (minimum master's degree), preferably MBA degree; Advanced degree in technology or data science desired.
Languages: Proficiency in English.
Understanding in another major language (e.g.
French, German, Spanish) preferred.
