Job Description

Position Purpose Brambles has a clear and well-established corporate strategy which has delivered strong performance over many years; however, this strategy is continually evolving to ensure ongoing success and alignment with changing customer needs.

The purpose of this position is to ensure that the Brambles Group strategy and the strategic programs that underpin it are rigorously developed, continually evolved, and effectively executed to increase the value of Brambles to customers and investors.

Reporting into the Chief Digital Officer emphasising the importance of Digital as a key enabler of Brambles long term agenda this role will be critical in embedding digital within the enterprise corporate strategy as Brambles evolves to data solutions led organisation and will oversee many of the key growth initiatives that support Bramble's future success.

The SVP Strategy will chair the global strategy team, be a member of the Digital Leadership Team with intentions to sit on the Group ELT within 2-3 years.

Key Accountabilities Aligning the priority focus areas for the business across short, medium and long term time horizons with the Brambles Executive Leadership Team (ELT) Partnering with regional presidents (CEOs), Heads of corporate functions, and Regional and functional Strategy leads to define and execute their strategies, consistent with these global priorities. Raising the business' sights to ensure we remain focused and accountable for delivering longer term goals as well as short term imperatives. Identifying global internal and external trends and developments and articulating how these should inform and direct changes to strategic priorities. Driving focus of the organisation on high priority goals and facilitating tough decisions to enable this. Leading and continuously improving the annual strategy planning process, including leadership strategy reviews and the annual Brambles' Strategy board Ensuring individual business unit and regional plans are consistent with the strategy, sufficient to deliver it, and command the support and confidence of ELT and the Board Partnering effectively with Brambles Investor Relations to ensure company strategies meet the expectations of and are effectively communicated to the external market. Partnering with Corporate Finance to ensure that the Strategy is consistent with our financial objectives, and that resources are allocated consistently with strategic priorities and plans. Guiding decision making as an active member of the Digital Leadership Team Setting the agenda for and chairing the Global Strategy Forum to ensure improvement, alignment, and delivery of strategy. Key Relationship Board Regional CEO's & Leadership teams in business units Investor relations About the Person Ability to operate effectively across a matrix and wide range of leadership styles, being an effective influencer, persuasive spokesperson across the entire organization and engager to bring support and alignment for a range of efforts that may or may not always align with local priorities but which are key to Brambles' overall aspirations. Strong entrepreneurial streak and commercial orientation. Proven track record of advising on driving growth and increasing profitability / return on investment in highly competitive markets. Credibility and gravitas across strategic, financial and operational discussions at a senior level The ability to create a competitive and breakthrough strategies and plans to achieve both short-term and long-term strategic objectives. The ability to anticipate future consequences and trends accurately and paint credible pictures of future possibilities. Demonstration of capability to communicate a compelling and inspired vision and sense of core purpose and future achievements that others want to enthusiastically buy into. A deep understanding of how businesses work with the ability to see the big picture and manage the business taking into account a wide variety of metrics (revenue, ROI, Cash flow, Operating profit etc) Experience and Qualifications MBA / Graduate Degree in Strategic Planning or similar 15 years professional experience across in-house strategy roles in large global organisations. A mix of consulting and in-house experience would be preferable. Individuals with strong logistics expertise would be highly valued, however experience in the FMCG or Retail sectors could also be very relevant. Successfully operated within organizations having a large international presence and been part of a global management team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of organizations and understand and appreciate the organizational, cultural, and economic nuances of doing business on a global scale. Knowledge of digital strategy and successfully embedded technology to elevate business performance and improving TSR. Possess credibility as a leader in strategic, financial and operational discussions with internal stakeholders, advisors and Board members. Preferred Education Masters
