The Supervisory Engineer, ANAV Mechanical Group The Fluid Systems group is part of the Global Engineering Services (GES) organization and provides various technical services and engineering support for safe and reliable solutions for plant fluid and mechanical systems.
Typical work includes the design and analysis of thermal-hydraulic networks, equipment sizing, plant programs, and requirements management for plant design or modifications.
The Supervisory Engineer will take one of three deputy manager roles reporting to the Fluid Systems manager and fulfilling lead/supervisor responsibilities as defined in the Leadership Bars.
The Supervisory Engineer will act as the Technical Leader for the ANAV Project A/E mechanical group, contributing to technology development and improvements, and will take team management & lead responsibility.
The workload associated with this role includes performance, time management, and resource loading of the team for the ANAV Project.
Additionally, the Supervisory Engineer will interface between the Fluid Systems group manager and the ANAV customer, Westinghouse Business Unit leaders, other ANAV Project A/E supervisors, and the A/E manager.
Tasks: Oversee ANAV Project Mechanical group, with extensive knowledge of utility specific skills, processes, and procedures.
Foster and build customer relationships and serve as a point of contact with the ANAV customer; provide regular communication and updates to all stakeholders.
Leadership and coordination during preparation of proposals (work package definition, coordination of technical descriptions, scheduling, calculation of efforts, hour and cost estimations).
ANAV Project work packages assignment and team technical coordination and support.
Cross-organizational coordination with the rest of ANAV Project supervisors.
Ensure internal procedures and standards adherence.
Ensure compliance with both ANAV and GES level KPIs.
Drive continuous improvement and recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products, processes, and/or procedures, and contribute to development of new methods and processes, as well as their introduction.
Manage & lead an engineering team (mentoring, training, time entries, issue resolution, team skills and objective development, etc.).
Support the Fluid Systems and ANAV Architect Engineer manager in workload planning and resource assignments.
Support reduction of composite rate and expand activity beyond ANAV projects for engineers.
Lead innovation and internally funded activities.
Education / Experience: Proven engineering leadership including: Coordination of teams to complete Design Modifications in challenging situations.
Frequent interactions with customers and other group supervisors.
In-depth knowledge and proven experience in ANAV NPP and Westinghouse local procedures.
Ability to get "things done" within Westinghouse through extensive operational and organizational know-how.
In-depth knowledge about ANAV fluid systems, plant programs, and organization.
Strong technical interest, predisposition for multi-tasking, flexibility, understanding of project priorities and teamwork abilities.
Extensive engineering knowledge in one or more engineering specialties and capable of leading engineering efforts on a project at the discipline level.
Work highly independently, capable of not only mentoring engineers but also effectively leading a team of engineers in the execution of complex tasks.
About 10+ years of related experience within or outside Westinghouse.
An Engineering License or equivalent is required.
Fluency in English and Spanish.
Catalan will be valued.
This position is based at the Vila-Seca office in Spain with some required travel to customer sites within Spain.
