The PositionDepartment and team: The Chapter SW Engineering R&D Internal Solutions with around 50 employees in Germany, Canada and the US develops custom made applications to support complex regulated processes in R&D, Clinical Operations and Manufacturing at Roche Diagnostics.
In this position you: Interact and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, which adds an interesting flavor to the role.Analyze user requirements and functional specifications and derive meaningful test cases.As appropriate, automate tests or write test procedures for manual execution.Take ownership for clarifying requirements and aligning with the development team on the specifics of the implementation.Live the Agile values and actively participate in our feedback and error culture and promote the agile mindset within the organization.The following skills are a must for the job: Experience defining and executing on testing strategy and approach.Experience technically leading on testing approach and automation solutions.Proficiency in at least one of these languages: JavaScript/TypeScript (preferred), Java, Python, C# DOT.NET, C++.Proficiency in at least one of these IDEs: JetBrains IntelliJ, MS Visual Studio Code, Eclipse.Experience with various QA and support related tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Maven, JUnit/TestNG, Cucumber/Gherkin, Jenkins, GitHub Actions (optional).Proficiency in using Git and Azure DevOps.Experience with creating automated tests for API, UI and Database layers.English language is a must.Ability to work independently and with global teams and good communication skills.Nice to have: DevSecOps skillset is a plus.Knowledge with agile software development methodologies (Scrum, SAFE).German language is a plus.Education and Experience: B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent field.3+ years of direct related experience in Software Quality Assurance and testing with proficiency in Behavioral + Test-Driven Development principles or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level.Personal strengths: Enthusiasm for software development and current IT software development trends.Very good analytical skills, a high degree of initiative and a solution-oriented approach.Quick comprehension as well as an analytical and solution-oriented way of thinking.Ability and desire to understand the complexity of our business.Independent and structured way of working, goal-oriented approach.Collaboration in a team, including in a matrix organization and in interdisciplinary teams, to develop optimal solutions together.Enjoy achieving your goal successfully with the right communication.Who we areAt Roche, more than 100,000 people across 100 countries are pushing back the frontiers of healthcare.
