UK Tower is the Santander UK Nearshoring strategy vehicle in Santander Digital Services located in Spain, to provide technology workforce and services directly to Santander UK that will work together and for UK Technology teams.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING As an Android Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to grow and learn through the challenge of building software in a highly dynamic and inventive environment.

We need someone like you to help us in different fronts: A software engineer who takes pride in their craftsmanship and in the results that they deliver. Experience of working as part of a cross-functional Agile delivery team. Embrace agile software engineering: BDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Pair Programming, etc. Take responsibility for the software delivery by ensuring quality and scope expectations are met. Work closely with partner technology teams and collaborate effectively. EXPERIENCE Years of related experience.
EDUCATION University degree in technology, preferably in computer science.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Good working knowledge of Android SDK. Good working knowledge of Kotlin, Gradle, JSON. Experience with Android Studio. Some experience with third-party libraries like Dagger, Retrofit using MVVM or MVP architecture. Some experience interfacing with REST API. Knowledge of Docker, Git, GitHub, Openshift, and Microservices Architecture is desirable but not essential. Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and the AppCentre repository manager is desirable but not essential. Working knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML is desirable but not essential. Actively demonstrates cross-team collaboration, sharing learning and best practices to contribute to overall team effectiveness. Good interpersonal skills - persuades and influences others, using a range of approaches, to achieve deliverables. Able to exchange ideas and information effectively in a concise and logical way and be sensitive to audience diversity. Pragmatic and results-oriented. Some Spanish knowledge would be a nice to have.
