The Infrastructure Instrumentation organization is looking for a Software Engineer to join our group in Europe.
This organization develops and maintains instrumentation agents and integrations for a wide range of products, including Kafka and MySQL.
We are working on projects to simplify observability for engineers, leveraging open source frameworks like OpenTelemetry.
All development is open source, either in Golang or Rust.
We encourage async communication and independence while fostering strong human relationships between team members during ceremonies or in-person gatherings when possible.
What you'll do Build, maintain, and scale Rust and Go clients/projects as well as their support tools.
Contribute to Open Source and grow your reputation and skills.
Collaborate with team members to discuss and implement service improvements, researching new tools and services to solve complex problems.
Ship incrementally and often, maintaining a constant flow of feedback on work.
Work in an agile environment with a DevOps approach, participating in second layer support rotations.
This role requires At least three years of experience with a passion for open source software, Linux systems, software architectures, and Rust programming.
Autonomy, cross-functionality, and agility in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering high-quality software.
Self-motivation, quick learning, accountability, and creative problem-solving skills.
Collaboration with colleagues in important decisions and shared code ownership.
Bonus points if you have Experience developing instrumentation products.
Experience on different Unix OSes and Windows.
Upstream contributions to relevant Open Source projects (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, etc.).
