THE ROLE As a Senior Software Engineer at Certinia, you will add deep technical expertise to a dynamic team of professionals, designing and developing software features that deliver value to our customers. You will work in a structured environment that encourages creativity and innovation, inspired by thought-leading best practices such as Lean, Kanban, and Agile methodology. You will influence strategies and approaches to the design and writing of unit and system tests, and make contributions to standards and guidelines that ensure solid and robust applications.
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE Partner with Product Managers and Product experts to help prioritize the product backlog.Design and develop complex software functions comprised of multiple features following Certinia's framework of standards and practices.Extensive use of multiple technologies, design, and testing approaches.Consider functional requirements and design effective testing strategies for unit and system tests.Coach and mentor software engineers, including those on other teams.Represent the team in product, or sometimes company-wide, technical discussions.Share knowledge and supervise more junior team members.Fix issues detected by continuous integration testing immediately as the number one priority.Act as a role model to others, supporting company values and technical approaches.Learn, influence, and keep up with changes in software development tools and techniques used by the team or mandated by the company.Support design and planning activities, helping with forecasting future work and deliverables.Effectively work with peers on team-oriented projects.Demonstrate resourcefulness in overcoming problems and establishing clarity.WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE Experience developing in Object Oriented languages, such as Java or C#.Demonstrable experience of developing enterprise applications, with skills in analyzing and solving problems and an understanding of application architecture principles.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Understanding of data integration, Web Services, and REST Services.Strong communication skills with R&D team members.Resourcefulness in overcoming problems and establishing clarity.Excellent communication skills.WHAT ELSE WOULD BE GREAT Experience in managing time and projects.Experience developing on Force.com.
