Your Mission As a Senior Outsource Supervisor, you will work on maintaining the vision set forth by the Art Leads and Art Directors as it relates to outsourcing environment assets for World of Warcraft.
This includes props, foliage, illustrations, and architecture.The ideal candidate for this position is experienced in creating and giving feedback for environment game assets, and has experience in modeling, UV mapping, texturing, and lighting.
They will also have a solid grasp of art fundamentals and a deep understanding of the hand-painted Warcraft art style.This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home.
The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.
However, we understand each persons circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore other possible options, including remote work arrangements.What you bring to the table: Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:Drive outsource development by scheduling and tracking incoming/outgoing assets.Manage communications and provide feedback to artists, and help maintain a strong creative relationship between external and internal art teamsGenerate detailed documentation, visual reference, and examples of asset production, tools, procedures, and engine requirements to support the external vendorsOwn the quality control over all incoming art assets, providing detailed feedback and approvals to the vendor to deliver quality assets to the development teamCommunicate with Art Directors, Art Leads, Production, Design, and other departments to understand and deliver on external development needsPrototype and create block-out assetsMinimum RequirementsExperience 5 years of experience in the AAA game industry or related field.Experience in game development creating 3D environment artExperience with 3D software packages and asset creation pipelinesExperience communicating with external or remote teamsKnowledge & Skills Organized, great follow-through, dedicated, and a teammateClear and concise communication, leadership, and people skillsCollaborate closely with Team Leads, Concept Artists and other teamsUnderstand real-time game development needsAbility to explore a wide variety of ideas that push the World of Warcraft styleSoftware experience such as 3ds Max (or equivalent) and PhotoshopExtra Points Proficiency with production tracking tools such as Shotgrid / JIRAYour PlatformBest known for iconic video game universes including Warcraft®, Overwatch®, Diablo®, and StarCraft®, Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.
