We invite you to join our Innovation and Technology Development (I&TD) team as a Senior Fermentation Scientist, where you'll be instrumental in driving the future of sustainable API manufacturing. Our mission is to transform lives through groundbreaking innovation, with fermentation as a key focus in our production pipeline.Key Responsibilities:Design, optimize, and scale up fermentation processes for pharmaceutical compound production.Conduct and supervise hands-on lab experiments to refine scalable, robust fermentation protocols.Technology transfer to manufacturing site collaborating with Tech Ops team for a successful process implementation.Drive innovations in fermentation methodologies, ensuring efficiency and consistency across processes.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate fermentation insights into the drug development pipeline.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate fermentation methodologies into overall API manufacturing processes.Leading collaborations with partners and CROs with deep understanding of technologies applied.Work under a GMP environment and comply with safety regulations in all activities.Cross-Functional Project Leadership:Apply advanced data science and enzymology techniques to enhance fermentation outcomes.Serve as the primary liaison with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and external partners, ensuring project alignment and quality standards.Evaluate data from partners, ensuring high quality, adherence to timelines, and alignment with project milestones.Lead cross-functional team collaborations to support overall I&TD lab performance, SHE compliance, and data integrity.Manage project timelines and resources, driving successful execution of fermentation goals.Key Requirements:PhD or Master's degree in fermentation, microbiology, biochemical engineering, biotechnology, or related discipline.8-10 years' experience in fermentation process development within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors and tech transfer.Deep expertise in advanced fermentation techniques and process scaling.Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.Effective communication, leadership capabilities, and a proactive, adaptable approach.Practicalities:Location: Barcelona, SpainDuration: Permanent PositionStart Date: ASAPInterested?To apply, send your CV to Khanyi Mabena at ****** or contact her at +31 2020 44502 for more details.
