Recreation Assistant (Madrid)

This position is located within MWR at USNSE Madrid, Spain. The incumbent is assigned to one or more specialized recreational activities such as Community Activities, Tours and Travel, Fitness/Athletics, and Youth Activities.

Two years of combined experience related to customer service and/or recreation is preferred.Successful completion of 2 years of study that included at least 12 semester hours in courses related to recreation (e.g., basic psychology, group dynamics, physical education, arts and crafts) may be substituted for 1 year of experience.Ability to organize, plan, and administer special events and entertainment activities.Must be able to work independently, make sound decisions, and have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Knowledge of the goals, principles, techniques, and methods of procedure used in organizing, planning, and conducting all types of activities.Knowledge of the Navy MWR mission and the entire scope of Community Recreation activities and their suitability for individuals, groups, ages, and interests.Knowledge of recreational and entertainment events.Knowledge of computers, office procedures, and print production.
