FUNCTIONS We are looking for a Project Manager for our client, an independent power producer (IPP) that develops, builds, and operates solar photovoltaic projects in Southern Europe, particularly in Portugal, Italy, and Spain. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on engineer to join an IPP company based in Madrid or to work remotely from Spain!
You will support the operations team on the full PV project lifecycle from early development stages, through permitting, construction, testing, and into the O&M stages. This support will extend to the technical, administrative, legal, and organizational areas of the business. A positive, helpful attitude and keen use of your own initiatives are key for this role!
Key Tasks and Responsibilities Planning, leading, and coordinating all activities/subcontractors associated with a project development (PV, Storage, Hybridization).
Managing different contractors (co-developers, advisors, service providers, etc.).
Preparation, supervision, and control of the project's budgets.
Site visits during the development phase, ensuring technical specs and quality standards are met.
Contract management during the development phase.
Support to Solar PV/Storage/Hybridization Engineering during the design phase of the projects.
Coordination of activities between different parties (contractors, advisors, insurance brokers, different departments in the company, etc.) during the development phase.
Project reporting (performance and reviews of reports).
Technology selection support and knowledge transfer.
Timely development supervision – project schedule management.
Risk identification, mitigation, and management to comply with company policies.
Support for development projects in other areas of the business, as required.
Education Requirements Engineering - A strong academic background is required.
Other Specific Knowledge & Skills Candidates must be comfortable working with a variety of project phases with a strong understanding of how they interact and a genuine interest in learning.
Minimum 4 years relevant working experience.
Management, Technical background, or experience acquired in a similar role.
Solid IT Skills.
Fluent English and Spanish required, with Italian and/or Portuguese languages preferable.
Candidates must have the right to work in Spain.
Candidates must be available and have the right to travel in Europe (primary) and globally (secondary).
Ability to understand key business and strategic objectives of the company and integrate business, legal, and regulatory concepts to develop effective internal controls and risk management strategies.
