Siemens Mobility Spain would like to get onboard a Project Execution Claims & Contract Engineer / QS We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Claims & Contract Engineer / QS.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in the management and execution of our rail projects to ensure they are handled in accordance with the contract terms and best practices.
You will be working across projects internationally based out of Madrid, Spain.

Nature of responsibilities: As part of the Project Management Team: Assist project managers to effectively manage the interface between the technical and contractual aspects of the project.
Review contracts, technical specifications, and their amendments during the execution phase and provide input to the Project Managers.
Support the claims, opportunity management and value engineering processes, including identification, substantiation, analysis and submission.
Help record variations, their corresponding cost impacts, and developing profitability for our projects.
Ensure the timely submission of notices and be responsible for their follow-up and reporting together with our project and legal teams.
Proactively monitor change management through formalizing processes.
Review and write letters and project documentation such as Minutes of Meetings and Monthly reports and identify potential risks.
Be involved in the budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost control, specifically related to cost overruns, claims and variations.
Project Planning Help the PM to analyse the Project Schedule (and specifically the Baseline schedules) to manage risks and potential delays to the critical path.
Liaise with the scheduling team and PM to help keep the current Project Schedules updated to ensure detection of delays and subsequently help prepare extensions of time.
Communication and Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for claims resolution and ensure that the correction contemporary evidence is created.
Act as a liaison between internal teams, clients, and external partners regarding contract-related matters.
Assist in the preparation of progress reports in relation project status, potential risks, and claim resolution progress.
Maintain an organized repository of contractual documentation.
Key Skills and Qualification You hold a degree in Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying or a related field.
You have gained experience in a project execution environment (at least 5 years).
Ideally in the rail transport or construction industry.
Therefore, you are well acquainted with the specifics of project management and contractual matters of major international project (delays, critical path, variations, etc.)
You must have a good command of the English language because you will work in international projects.
Spanish language skills are an advantage.
As you will spend time reading contracts and writing letters, excellent reading and writing skills are essential.
You are also willing to travel as required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Knowledge of Planning Software (Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project) would be an advantage.
