Job Summary Cicoil, a Trexon company, is hiring for a Production Assembler in Valencia, CA. The Production Assembler is responsible for the assembly and manufacturing of various types of cables used in electrical and electronic systems. The Production Assembler ensures the quality and functionality of the cables produced are up to standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Cable Assembly: Perform the assembly of cables according to specific work instructions, engineering drawings, or diagrams. This includes cutting, stripping, crimping, and soldering wires and connectors, as well as routing cables and securing them with appropriate fasteners. Quality: Ensure cables meet quality standards and specifications. Identify and rectify any defects or issues, such as loose connections, improper soldering, or damaged insulation, to maintain the integrity of the final product. Equipment Operation: Operate various tools and equipment required for cable assemblies, such as wire strippers, crimping machines, soldering irons, heat guns, and testing devices. Ensure proper handling and maintenance of equipment to maximize productivity and safety. Documentation / Labor Clocking in: Adhere to documentation procedures and scan jobs accurately in the ERP system. Safety: Follow all safety guidelines, procedures, and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Comply with company policies and quality management systems. Collaboration: Coordinate and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any production-related challenges. Contribute to a positive work environment by actively participating in team meetings and sharing suggestions for process improvement. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency enhancements, or cost reduction within the cable assembly process. Provide feedback and suggestions to supervisors for improving production methods, equipment, or materials. Molding: Place materials into molds and models by operating a foot pump injecting potting material around or into them. Spray or brush mold surfaces with parting agents into molds to confirm smoothness and prevent seepage or sticking. Use depth gauges and hand tools to insert and adjust wires, cores, tubes, fittings into molds while aligning the parts and workpieces for proper assembly. Separate parts from molds using a drill to open up molds and check removed workpieces or products for accuracy. Clean excess material from product with cutters and other cleaning tools. Nice to Haves: Previous experience in cable assembly, electrical assembly, or related manufacturing roles is desirable. Familiarity with cable types, connectors, and electrical components is desirable. Basic knowledge of soldering techniques and wire crimping. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical specifications. Proficiency in using various hand tools and equipment commonly used in cable assembly. Must Haves: Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy. Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues during the assembly process. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team. Understanding of safety procedures and adherence to quality standards. Good reading and writing comprehension. Strong manual dexterity and arm-hand steadiness. Able to handle and move objects. Ability to work overtime. This position requires use of information or access to hardware and documents which are subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
