The Department of Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar who will work under the direction of Assistant Professor Shaheen Sikandar.
The postdoctoral scholar will contribute to stem cell and cancer research focused on developing novel strategies to understand the molecular mechanisms governing metastasis formation; the molecular changes in mammary stem cells during aging; and novel transcription regulators.
The postdoctoral scholar will participate in research projects by conceiving, planning, and performing experiments in the laboratory, depending on the experience level of the candidate.
The candidate will be expected to contribute to the research endeavors of colleagues within the laboratory and at the institution, as appropriate.
The candidate will also be expected to apply for novel, external sources of funding including but not limited to NIH K99/R00 and F32 grants.
