CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The Center is located at the UAB Campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.
The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is looking for a Postdoc Researcher to be part of the group Rosaceae Genetics and Genomics.
The candidate will study the leaf microbiome communities in an apple collection planted in six European locations and managed under different conditions. He/she will perform the bioinformatic and genomic data analysis in a large sample set of more than 4500 samples of apple leaves to determine attributes such as diversity parameters, networks and key taxa involved in stress resilience of cultivars in different environments. The candidate will also conduct GWAS analysis and contribute to predictive models to identify new loci and candidate genes that regulate microbiome-mediated stress response.
Minimum RequirementsEducational requirements: PhD in biology, biotechnology, ecology or similar.
Skills: Proficiency in bioinformatics analysis of multi-omics data and familiarity with software such as R and Python.Knowledge in multi-omics network analysis and statistical modeling.Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research team.Strong organizational and time management skills.Experience: PhD degree at the time of starting, with proven experience in multi-omics data analysis in plants, preferably trees or clonally reproduced crops.
