CONSTRUCTION COORDINATOR (PIPING & MECHANICAL) MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES: During the delivery phase, directly oversee the construction activities related to structural, mechanical, piping, and pipeline work packages and minor E&I scope.
Ensure that the works are executed in accordance with contractual documentation, schedule, Company procedures, and plans.
Directly follow up the construction activities (e.g., prefabrication, erection, pre-commissioning), monitor the progress and the quality of the works by performing daily visits at site and/or at the contractors' fabrication shops.
Provide assistance to the Project Manager and Project Engineer in reviewing the construction documentation submitted by the Contractors (Approved for construction drawings such as ISOs, P&IDs, Construction procedures/method statements, execution plan, and schedule).
Provide technical construction assistance to the Project Manager and Project Engineer for timely resolution of technical construction issues and quality anomalies/non-conformities arisen at site.
Interface with engineering and procurement departments to ensure on-time delivery of documentation and material to allow timely execution of the works.
Ensure that the project quality plan and relevant Inspection Test Plan are implemented during construction and that relevant quality control reports are issued.
Coordinate contractors' pre-commissioning activities and guarantee that mechanical completion is achieved on time, with no punch list items affecting the commissioning and ready for start-up activities.
Coordinate with the site HSE management team for a safe delivery of the work.
Ensure that HSEQ plant and site requirements are implemented, coactivities and relevant risks are identified and mitigated.
Coordinate with Plant Production Manager and Contractors of different work packages to allow smooth execution of the works avoiding any critical simultaneous operation.
Participate in HSE Coordination meetings and manage the emission and approval of work permits.
Organize and lead construction coordination meetings with Contractors and participate in project meetings as required.
On a daily/weekly basis (as required), report the status of the construction activities and relevant progress to the Project management team highlighting any critical issues and proposing corrective actions if required.
EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES: Minimum 5 years experience in construction coordination activities for piping and mechanical work packages.
Extensive experience in construction supervisory activities.
Knowledge of industrial and/or Oil & Gas plants.
Knowledge of construction prefabrication, erection, pre-commissioning, and commissioning methodologies and processes.
Knowledge of quality controls during construction.
Knowledge of HSE risks during construction.
Knowledge of Spanish norms and regulations about site construction works and safety.
