This role will assist the Engineering Manager in ensuring the efficient and economic operation of the Engineering Department in support of all other operating Departments, supplying services as required to the entire operation, and maintaining equipment, building, and grounds in optimum condition ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency while growing and developing within the hotel industry.
The Engineering Assistant Manager will supervise and oversee the building's mechanical equipment as well as the engineering staff. The overall responsibility for managing engineering operations and coordinating with the Senior Managers all hotel needs and functions under the direct supervision and instructions of the Area Director of Engineering and Hotel General Manager.
What you will do as an Assistant Engineering ManagerProvide the highest quality of service to the customer at all timesDeal promptly and efficiently with guest complaints and needsHave a thorough knowledge of emergency and safety proceduresRespond to all emergencies and be prepared to assistResponsible for ordering supplies, tools, and equipment and maintaining proper par levels to corporate department standardsThis role will support, maintain, and implement the department's Back of the House preventive maintenance programWill be required to represent and support the Engineering Manager in his absence confidently on all levels to ownership, corporate executive leadership, contractors, or other department heads.Maintains the PM program for the entire hotelDrive initiatives for energy efficiency and sustainability. Perform maintenance checks of equipment and logs properlyAttend Daily Operations MeetingsDirect Supervise of the Engineering CrewsEnsure cleanliness and orderliness of all workspaces, shops, and storage areasPHYSICAL DEMANDSRequires ability to perform the following: carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 75 pounds. They frequently stand up and move about the facility, handle objects and equipment to maintain it, and constantly bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and crawl. May work in noisy environments, hot or cold temperatures, and confined spaces. This job may require working from heights higher than 4 feet and working off ladders.
