Offer DescriptionCREAF is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work as project manager in a study on the restoration of pollinator habitats in apple orchards within the RESTPOLL project (Restoring Pollinator habitats across European agricultural landscapes based on multi-actor participatory approaches; HORIZON-CL6-2022-BIODIV-02-01), with ref.
101082102 funded by the European Commission.A full-time contract (37.5 hours/week) for one-year contract with the possibility of extension for up to two years if the budget allows, starting in January 2025.
The salary offered is € 32,642.10 gross per year.TASKS:Overall supervision of the project.
The incumbent will supervise the day-to-day progress of the study, including restoration interventions, pollinator and natural enemy surveys, and pollination and fruit set assessments.Supervision of students and technicians.
The incumbent will train and supervise technicians and MSc and PhD students working in the project.Coordination of living labs.
The incumbent will organise and coordinate living labs with participation of producers, farm managers, agronomists and researchers.Data analysis.
The incumbent will supervise the analysis of data generated throughout the project.Manuscript writing.
The incumbent is expected to take the lead in the writing of 1-2 manuscripts by the end of the study.Report writing.
The incumbent is expected to take the lead in the writing of the final report of the project.Requirements:PhD in Biology, Ecology, Agroecology, Environmental Sciences or similar.Experience in managing field surveys.Experience in pollination and pollinator ecology.Experience in orchard pests and their natural enemies.Experience in project management.Experience in outreach and technology transfer activities.Ability to communicate with fruit producers.Good statistics skills.Good GIS skills.Ability to write manuscripts and reports in English.Driver's licence.Languages: ENGLISH Level ExcellentSelection process:Applicants must submit a CV and a brief cover letter with a statement of interest until December 19, 2024.
