Job Summary The Manufacturing Process Engineer will play a pivotal role in enhancing our manufacturing processes for cable and wire harness systems. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, collaboration, and innovation to ensure our products not only meet but exceed industry standards and customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in electrical or mechanical engineering, with specific experience in cable harness design and manufacturing processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with teams across the company and with external partners to fully understand project requirements and specifications. Compliance: Ensure all cable and wire harness designs and manufacturing processes comply with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards and regulations. Engineering Documentation: Generate detailed engineering drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly using Autodesk Inventor and Office Suite applications. First Build Coordination: Oversee the first build and testing of cable harness systems, ensuring optimal functionality and reliability from inception to final product. Documentation and ERP Management: Guarantee that all drawings and documentation are appropriate for manufacturing and assembly; oversee the entry of parts into the ERP system, preferably Epicor. Integration and Collaboration: Facilitate seamless integration of components for production by working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams. Communication: Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders within the company. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements, contributing to the development of organizational best practices. Manufacturing Support: Provide timely solutions to manufacturing challenges, including material specifications, drawing dimensions, and tooling adjustments. Design Feasibility: Collaborate with the Quoting team to assess the feasibility of new designs, considering current or potential new production methods. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in design and/or manufacturing, specifically with electro-mechanical systems and cable harness design. Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP systems is preferred.

Skills: Must be detail-oriented, responsive, accessible, self-motivated, autonomous, and able to work well with diverse internal team members and external points of contact. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to multitask. Must demonstrate strong communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to present ideas and recommend appropriate courses of action. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D modeling software. Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles and familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards and other relevant regulations. Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential. Hands-on experience with first build and testing processes is a must, along with a proven capability in generating comprehensive drawing packages for manufacturing. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. This position requires the use of information or access to hardware and documents that are subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
