Position has direct responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of all production lines assigned. The shift supervisor reports to this position.Position is responsible for fostering a team-focused work environment to achieve plant and company goals and objectives. This includes safety, environmental, productivity, quality, maintenance, lean six sigma events, and financial performance.Safety and Environmental performance:Communicates expectationsConducts audits, investigates, and documents all incidentsConducts safety meetingsAuthorizes work and signs permitsParticipates on the plant safety committeeProduction:Determines requirements and assigns personnel to each line to assure efficient operationMonitors operations including run rates, changeovers, and line cleansCoordinates with maintenance, lab, and warehouse personnel to meet line production expectationsTroubleshoots process issues and determines the appropriate course of action to resolveParticipates in the development/revision of operating proceduresIdentifies and participates in documentation of Management of ChangesQuality:Reviews finished goods laboratory test resultsReviews in-process test resultsDetermines process running condition changes to be madeSolicits input from tech support as neededParticipates in on-site customer auditsParticipates in ISO auditsParticipates in customer trials/trial reviewsParticipates in complaint investigationsStaffing:Participates in plant staffing activities including interviewing and selectionConducts performance reviews for direct reports and ensures performance reviews are conducted for all operations personnelRecommends wage increases and promotionsIdentifies and prioritizes personnel developmental needsConducts disciplinary discussionsReviews staff assignmentsDevelops and communicates work schedules for production lines and assigns staff as neededMaintenance:Supports the Avient Reliability Program by coordinating shift maintenance activitiesAudits equipment checklists to verify proper monitoring by operationsEnsures work orders are written and entered into the system for schedulingSchedules line downtime as required for proactive maintenanceOther responsibilities:Learns and uses all appropriate systems which may include SAP, IQS, LRM, CCS, CAID Charts, E-time, Ariba on Demand, Microsoft Office applicationsMust understand and manage financial performance from a cost-to-manufacture standpoint for assigned linesMust drive Lean Six Sigma events to improve overall performance for assigned linesOther projects/duties as assigned or needed#J-18808-Ljbffr
