Join Space Resource Technologies as a Manufacturing Engineer, where you'll gain hands-on experience with specialized mineral processing and distribution equipment. Working with SRT's Operations Department, you will have the unique opportunity to identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements that directly impact our manufacturing operations.
At Space Resource Technologies, we replicate the surfaces of the Moon, Mars, and Asteroids. Our materials are used by leading space companies like NASA, ESA, JAXA, private space companies, researchers, and educators throughout the world. By using our simulants, our customers are able to gain a better understanding of the surfaces of these planetary bodies and perform research for the future of space exploration. Responsibilities:
Develop familiarity with specialized particle size reduction equipment including a hammermill, flail mill, jaw crusher, and ball mill.
Develop familiarity with mineral mixing equipment and international distribution processes.
Use prior experience and on-site experience to identify at least 1 improvement opportunity and implement a solution.
Work cooperatively with a team of Manufacturing Engineering Interns under the guidance of Exolith Lab Engineers to identify at least 1 major improvement opportunity and work as a group to implement a solution.
Basic Qualifications:
Availability for 12 hours per week of work for the 12-week duration.
Degree-seeking student at UCF, Valencia, or Seminole.
Ability to carry at least 35lbs on a regular basis.
Must be able to work at least three, 4-hour shifts Monday, Tuesday, and/or Friday from 9am to 1pm or 9am-5pm.
Qualifications:
Experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
Experience with Manufacturing Engineering.
Experience with Production and Distribution.
Please note: this position is specifically for non-paid internships. Unpaid interns may work a maximum of 25 hours per week. These positions comply with the Fair Labor Standard Act.
