The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing logistics operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. The role involves managing supply chain processes, optimizing logistics performance, and collaborating with various teams to achieve company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency.
Coordinate the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained.
Oversee the flow of goods from suppliers to warehouses and customers.
Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers, suppliers, and vendors.
Maintain relationships with external logistics providers to ensure quality service.
Monitor and control logistics costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Lead and manage logistics staff, including training and performance evaluation.
Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics operations.
Prepare regular reports on logistics performance and present findings to senior management.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (typically 3-5+ years).
Knowledge of inventory management software, ERP systems, or transportation management systems (TMS).
Familiarity with logistics and supply chain management principles and practices.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including customs clearance and transportation compliance.
