This position is responsible for the multi-state sales and use tax compliance, audits, and research and oversees the coordination of property tax compliance by a third-party service provider. In addition, this position will be responsible for general ledger account reconciliations, vendor tax issue resolution, administrative tasks, and special projects.The position is based in Downtown Houston with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.Responsibilities: Maintain the compliance calendar for indirect taxes to ensure timely filings and paymentsResponsible for the preparation, filing, and payment of sales and use tax returns for multiple entitiesDetermine the taxability by reviewing invoices, purchase orders, and contractsResponsible for the issuance and maintenance of customer exemption certificatesManage the sales and use tax registration, permits, and business licensesPrepare monthly general ledger indirect tax account reconciliationsCoordinate the collection of documentation and prepare responses to support company's position during tax auditsInteract with other departments (i.E., Development, Operations, Accounting, Procurement) to obtain information to prepare memoranda detailing indirect tax treatmentsOversee third-party preparation of property returns and related work papersCoordinate technical tax research and analysis for local tax incentive programs (property tax/IRB, etc.)Assist other tax-related projects (i.E.
