Purpose of Position: As a Lead Engineer, you head up the Engineering part of a cross-functional service-oriented team, working on extending and maintaining our Affiliate Marketing platform.
Key Tasks: Day-to-day management of the engineering part of a service team (3-5 engineers)Quarterly check-ins with team members, preparation and tracking of individual development plans / goalsCoaching and mentoring of team members through regular 1:1sCoordination with other teams/services and departments within P&T (e.g. Systems Engineering, IT Operations)Taking ownership of all stages of the software delivery life cycle to deliver, maintain and operate solutionsResponsible for technical approaches with the support of architecture and within the governance frameworksLead decisions, facilitate discussions within the team, conflict resolution where necessaryFoster a self-organising and autonomous agile team, use delegation where necessary and appropriateMaintain and operate the services owned by the team and rectify issues in productionEstablish specifications / standards and use these to design, code, test and document components of any complexitySet or follow best-practice guidelines and processes and continuously improve thoseConduct or receive code review, pair programming where applicableActive role in the hiring process through e.g. screening CVs, taking part in interviewsFacilitating and conducting research of new technologies, proof of conceptsApproving absence requestsFacilitating professional team development through channelling / assessing requests for training, conferences etc.Facilitates and contribute to knowledge sharing in the teamDrive change through the teams where necessaryBalancing effort vs. outcome to find pragmatic solutions with a focus on economic viabilitySkills & Expertise: At least 7 years of commercial Software Engineering experienceExperience with PHPExperience working with SymfonyYou have a positive attitude, and an energetic presentationOur Offer: Flexi-Week and Work-Life Balance: We prioritise your mental health and wellbeing, offering you a flexible four-day Flexi-Week at full pay and with no reduction to your annual holiday allowance.
