Why Patients Need You: Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) is part of Pfizer that brings approved medicines to the patients. Within PGS, the Data and Performance team is charged with enabling performance improvements within PGS. We do this in several ways:
Bringing visibility to performancePerforming analysis to identify specific areas of improvementDriving initiatives that leverage data-driven approaches to performance improvementUpkeep models that drive automated operations and decision supportFinally, with data as the foundation, we act as owners and help govern several of the data and reporting platforms. Where not, we act as key stakeholders in the management of this business-critical infrastructure.
What You Will Achieve: In this role, you would leverage your knowledge of processes in manufacturing, quality, and supply to help generate insights from data to drive improvement. It will involve analysis, storytelling through visuals, and driving process change. You will perform deep and iterative analysis in a vertically integrated supply network to drive improvement. This role offers the opportunity to work in a small team of motivated team members. We identify and narrate causes for problems on a global scale. We also lead or help drive solutions using the analysis we have performed. This is both highly rewarding and challenging given our scale. Training and learning are strongly supported to develop the team members. In addition, colleagues get to explore the latest tools and technologies available. It is your hard work and focus that will help Pfizer's customers and patients to receive the medicines they need when they need them.
How You Will Achieve It: Build models that describe processes and are the basis of modeling improvementsDevelop expertise in business area to be the main point of contact for initiatives in those areasBe a thought leader to identify areas of opportunity and explore their effect using dataLead improvement initiatives by collaborating with process owners, operations, and other stakeholders when solving problems using an engineering approachBe part of a community to help ensure data maintenanceWork with the Digital organization to industrialize selected solutions or models developedQualifications: Must-Have: Engineering or math-based degree: Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalentMinimum 5+ years cumulative experience in:Dealing with large data sets and the skills to work with themWorking with SQL, Python, R, and/or JavaScriptNarrating complex situations with data and visuals (using d3.js, Bokeh, or others are most welcome)Modeling and inter-linking large deterministic data setsBasic understanding of statisticsA passion for data science and its impact/presence in the industrial worldAbility to communicate, convince, build relationships, and collaborate with a variety of colleaguesFluent in written and verbal EnglishNice-to-Have: Experience in the area of supply chain, manufacturing, or quality operationsNLP - General knowledge/quick grasp of unstructured data techniques for textCoding abilities and general comfort with learning/adapting to new technologyAbility to quickly grasp other languagesAbility to build compelling visuals to tell a storyPersonal qualities: Independent thinker and self-motivatedConstant desire to learn and upgrade skill setsThinking of the simplest ways to solve complex problemsOrganized through good documentation and working well in teamsPurpose: Breakthroughs that change patients' lives.
