The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses Mare Nostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, was a founding and hosting member of the former European HPC infrastructure PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe), and is now hosting entity for Euro HPC JU, the Joint Undertaking that leads large-scale investments and HPC provision in Europe. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 1000 staff from 60 countries.

Context And Mission
Reporting to the HR & Labour Relations Coordinator, the HR Officer will ensure the implementation of HR policies and procedures giving advice to BSC members. She/He/They will be the key contact person of the determined Departments and will work in a proactive way supporting the group leaders in their HR management.
Key Duties
- HR Administration of Scientific Departments:
o Incorporations (from foreign affairs to contracts)
o Work and Fellows contracts
o Payroll review
o Leavers process management
o HR Advisor of Groups Leaders
o HR Key contact person of these Departments
o Budget controlling and analysis of these Departments
- Master/Undergraduate student's coordination (from HR point of view)
- General support to the HR & Labour Relations Coordinator (From filing to answering questions to the staff)
- Compensation and benefits: Compensation and Benefits: Oversee the flexible compensation program and manage employee perks, collaborating with the HR team to ensure seamless execution
- HR data management (data intro in the ERP and different reporting systems): Ensure data accuracy within the ERP and HR reporting systems, providing detailed HR reports and insights.
- Drive and support internal HR projects, contributing to the continuous improvement of HR policies and practices.
- This is not a full definition of the role but covers the main aspects and drivers for success.
Requirements
- Education
- University Degree.
- Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in an HR role, preferably in a multicultural or international environment.
- Proven experience in a research or academic environment is highly valuable.
- Fluent in Spanish, Catalan, and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven expertise in labour law and regulations.
- Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong skills in Microsoft office. (Excellent in Excel)

- Strong organizational skills with a structured, analytical approach to planning and management.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume, and deadline-driven environment.

Conditions
- The position will be located at BSC within the Management Department
- We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures
- Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration
- Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement
- Salary: we offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in Barcelona
- Starting date: 09/11/2024
