The role can be fully remote or based out of our sunny Madrid office.The CompanyWe're reinventing early childhood education through an online language learning service for kids. With fresh content - games, books, videos, interactive episodes, etc - every week, we are helping more than 9M families and their children around the world learn English in a fun and effective way. Our dream is to have a positive impact on 100M families and we're working hard to make it a reality. Our talented team of product designers, software engineers, and content producers tweak and improve our product daily while incorporating feedback from our customers.Are you our Head of Engineering?As a Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading an engineering group: growing and supporting the teams that build Lingokids' product and business. You will manage a group of Engineering Leads, supporting them to run effective teams who iteratively deliver a quality product. You would manage and lead our Growth Product group, initially responsible for three teams: Monetisation, New User Experience (NUX) and Acquisition, currently consisting of 12 engineers.The NUX squad focuses on delighting new users in their initial days and weeks with us. They optimise onboarding flows and help ensure that users understand the value of our product and how it relates to their specific needs. They also ensure that trialling users are as successful as possible to encourage users to keep using Lingokids for the long term.The Monetisation squad uses analytics and experimentation to segment and serve users best, and create and optimise new product offerings. Examples could include weekend or summer passes, gifts that users can send to friends, different tiers to help lower income families benefit from Lingokids - in short, as many ways as possible for a diverse array of families to enjoy and learn from our app.The NUX and Monetisation squads are currently working on a strategic project, New Baseline Experience. We plan to offer a compelling free product to users, alongside our paid subscriptions. Like Duolingo, we want to offer a great free service so that users can understand the value we provide, while offering a compelling paid option if they want to get more out of Lingokids.The Acquisition squad works to help us acquire new customers more efficiently. They're currently focused on improving our web onboarding flows to allow us to better optimise our performance marketing. Their future roadmap includes supporting partnerships, CRM, and marketing tech.The whole Engineering department consists of around 40 people, working in cross-functional squads with our Product department, as well as in centralised Enabler Teams such as Platform, Data Engineering and QA
