Opdenergy is a renewable energy company and operates as an independent power producer (IPP: independent power producer). The company was founded in Spain, has been operating for 19 years, and currently has subsidiaries in Europe, North America, and South America. The company develops power plant projects from scratch, finances their implementation, carries out their construction, and manages the operational phase of the built generating units. The company is currently developing power projects in nine countries and has operating generation facilities in five of them. The size of operating installations is about 1.3 GW (sources: photovoltaic and wind), the total size of projects under construction or prepared for construction is ~1.3 GW. The total size of the remaining projects at various stages of development is more than 18 GW.
Currently we are looking for a Grid Code Manager based in Madrid who, in coordination with the business development and construction teams, will lead the interconnection of renewable energy projects, considering the technical requirements of the Utilities and Applicable Law.
What will you help with? Grid Code Management: Oversee the implementation and compliance with grid codes and standards.Review and interpret new grid codes, regulations, and standards from regulatory bodies.Develop, update, and maintain internal policies and procedures to align with grid code requirements.Serve as the primary point of contact for all grid code-related inquiries and issues.Grid Simulation: Utilize advanced grid simulation tools to model and analyze grid performance and stability.Conduct grid impact studies and scenario analysis to support planning and operational decisions.Identify potential grid issues and recommend solutions based on simulation results.Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate simulation findings into grid operations and planning.Regulatory and Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with regulatory authorities, industry groups, and other stakeholders to stay informed about changes in grid codes and regulations.Participate in industry forums and working groups to represent the company's interests and contribute to grid code development.Prepare and submit reports, documentation, and compliance filings as required by regulatory bodies.Technical Leadership and Support: Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams on grid code compliance and simulation matters.Lead training sessions and workshops to educate staff on grid codes, standards, and simulation tools.Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.Who you are? Graduated Engineer in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.Senior profile with over 4 years of experience in grid code management, power systems engineering, or a related field.Expert in grid simulation tools (PSSE, DIgSILENT), grid simulation and modeling techniques.Knowledge of electrical grid operations, planning, and regulatory environment.Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making person.Communicator with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.Project manager skilled with the ability to deal with multiple priorities and deadlines.What we offer?
