We are looking for a (Hybrid) Fullstack Software Engineer to join our I&C area in GTD Science, Infrastructures & Robotics¸ the company of GTD Group specialized in the design and development of large, complex and/or safety-critical applications. Here you will find more information about us: https://vimeo.com/418046136 Position activities: The project consists of providing development, technical services, and maintenance of the ITER Control, Data Access, and Communication (CODAC) life cycle, specifically of the CODAC Core System (CCS). This system can be thought of as the brain and central nervous system of ITER. It physically connects all plant systems using computer networks and makes sure they speak the same language. You will develop, implement and maintain the control and supervisory services for the thermonuclear reactor, named Control System Studio (CS-Studio).
Design and build new functionalities for both desktop and web applications. Solve existing issues, including performance or concurrency issues, and propose solutions Maintain and support your developments with test procedures Write high-quality documentation: we know it's not fun but great work comes with great responsibility Knowledge transfer: The scope of the project is big and we are constantly learning new methods and strategies to reach our objectives and tasks. Your profile: Solid experience with Java (Java 11) Confident knowledge in Python Confident knowledge in Web programming languages such as HTML, CSS, Javascript/Typescript Confident knowledge in source control systems such as Git or SVN Confident knowledge in SQL (we work with PostgreSQL) Linux (user level) Deep understanding of software engineering concepts such as OOP, functional programming, concurrency, data structures, design and architecture patterns, databases, APIs… Great communication skills in English (spoken and written) Passionate about technology Works well in a team and takes initiative Open to new approaches and new ideas Eager to solve complex problems Great communication skills (spoken and written) English (high level) – Proficiency
