As a Finance Manager, you'll help us optimize our finances so that we can enhance our customer experience even more and navigate the fast-changing business environment.
This role is an opportunity to act as the key finance leader for a strategic program and get really involved with shaping our business.
You'll lead others and use insights to show senior stakeholders ways that we can move forward with our business ambitions.
Position can be hired on any of the Finance Hubs: MAD15, MUC2, LHR16, LUX12, LIN1, CDG10 and PRG14.
Key job responsibilities Build financial models to drive business decisions and make judgement calls on challenges using your understanding of Amazon's cost structure.
Lead projects by overseeing timelines, priorities, auditing quality and resolving issues.
Generate insights from financial data, identify opportunities for greater efficiency, and communicate findings with the leadership team to drive business actions.
Own the financial and operational plan and financial reporting, create scalable processes and monitor teams for accuracy.
Onboard, develop and mentor team members in areas of financial reporting for accuracy, create best practice materials and promote knowledge sharing.
Standardize, consolidate, automate and enhance daily and weekly reporting across EU, cooperating with CF Finance and Ops, ACES, PE and Central Flows BP's as primary customers.
Identify, create and consolidate best practice reporting so BPs are using accurate data to make correct decisions.
Proactively identify and scope out potential initiatives to support BP's.
Provide support to BP's for adhoc requests with work received and prioritized via a SIM ticket queue.
Identify analysis/reports that would benefit other sites - all EU, country or FC type - and scale accordingly.
Identify repetitive requests for analysis and builds tools and reports to meet the demand to maximize automation of routine tasks.
Create and maintain an automation roadmap for the Central Finance Organization.
Build strong relationship with counterparties that are not its main customer in order to ensure that team work is not overlapping with other teams' responsibilities.
Has ownership of data sets incoming into its own server and deprecation of data sources/servers.
Perform data sets checks for any data entering own cluster/server which further sources data for Central Finance owned tools and EU wide downstream teams dependent on data.
A day in the life Our Finance Managers at this level take a hands-on role to boost our business performance and efficiency.
You'll collaborate with partners in different areas of our business to provide insights on improvements in our operational performance.
That will involve deep diving into data, managing our planning processes, and giving team members guidance on more ambiguous areas of our cost structures.
You'll also help other teams across the EU to gain access to vital insights and to collaborate.
You'll manage or mentor people and work closely with partners to help inform and guide their key decisions.
This role is predominantly based in one of our corporate offices but may also be based in one of our sites with opportunities to work remotely on occasion.
About the team The ACES-PE-CF-BRS-L&D Finance team is a group of finance representatives that are driving process stabilization, standardization and continuous improvement for the EU Network under different scopes of action.
This team is essential to establish best in class network performance across all performance paths, accelerate implementation of projects and to strengthen the technical acumen and process knowledge for the operational leaders across the FC network.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or a Bachelor's degree and experience in quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance).
Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making.
Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
Relevant experience in a finance role including partnering with a variety of stakeholders across the business.
Relevant experience of working within Operations, Supply Chain or Network design.
Relevant experience working with Excel and large-scale data mining and reporting tools such as Python, SQL or Tableau.
Relevant experience in financial modelling.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan.
Experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits).
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.
Relevant experience working with Excel, reporting tools and large-scale data mining tools, such as Power BI, Python, SQL, or Tableau.
