Director, Oligonucleotide Chemistry & FormulationsLocation: La Jolla, CAJanssen Research & Development, L.L.C., a division of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is seeking a Director for Oligonucleotide Chemistry & Formulations in the RNA, Gene Therapy & Delivery organization.Key Responsibilities:Drive scientific direction, strategy, and leadership for oligonucleotide and bioconjugate design and synthesis.Establish LNP formulation capabilities for RNA therapeutics.Lead innovation, optimization, and process development for oligonucleotide therapeutics and LNP formulations.Co-lead and mentor project teams in developing oligonucleotide drug discovery strategies.Collaborate with internal and external partners in various key functions.Build and lead a team for chemistry processes optimization.Manage external CROs and CMOs to support oligonucleotide synthesis.Evaluate experimental data and communicate scientific findings effectively.Qualifications:Education: PhD in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or related field with over 10 years of industry and postdoctoral experience in Oligonucleotide/RNA drug discovery.Experience and Skills:Deep experience in phosphoramidite synthesis, purification, and analytical characterization.Strong understanding of the oligonucleotide drug discovery process.Experience in advancing oligonucleotide therapeutics into clinical development.Excellent critical thinking and scientific skills.Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.Hands-on experience with formulating and assessing LNP delivery systems.Preferred Skills:Postdoctoral experience emphasizing nucleic acid chemistry.Proven track record in oligonucleotide research.Experience in development/CMC and regulatory interactions.Knowledge of innovative bioconjugation strategies for oligonucleotide delivery.Working knowledge of RNA biology and oligonucleotide screening technologies.Experience with LNP formulation design, production, and quality control.Deep understanding of the LNP landscape.#J-18808-Ljbffr
