HOTEL MANAGEMENT AND TOURISM
FUNCTIONS
Reporting to the Commercial Director, your mission will consist of generating budgeted top line revenue and RevPAR for the hotel through a successful revenue management strategy. Assist with all sales strategies and actions necessary to exceed budgeted goals. Maintain and exceed the hotel and group standards in order to maximize profits and ensure outstanding guest service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversees the Sales and Events Department and development of team's action plans, forecasting and evaluating trends to modify strategies that will enhance revenues effectively.
Leading by example: assist in leading, training & mentoring group/events sales managers. Identify opportunities for improvement and assist in their development.
Develop and implement sales action plans for the group, corporate, leisure and catering segments for the sales and event team: create goal setting and review both KSO's and team quarterly results.
Support by leading and executing the sales portion of the annual budget and business/marketing plan. Analyze forecast, cost, and revenue reports and make sales strategy decisions based on that information to ensure hotel's RevPAR and good positioning within the comp set.
Organize and participate in fam trips. Plan and, on occasion, attend sales blitzes/missions for the hotel group in key markets with qualified pre-trip agendas and detailed post-trip reports.
Attend meetings as assigned – BEOS, Leaders Meeting, Groups/Transient meetings, etc.
Develop and maintain market trends and competitive set data knowledge to contribute to revenue strategies.
Regularly research and remain current with Sales and Marketing trends.
Assist in the production of the annual hotel business plan.
Plan and manage sales resources according to agreed upon budgets of the department.
Lead property groups/Transient meetings always ensuring revenue maximization and profit in all areas in the absence of the Commercial Director.
Ensure that hotel credit procedures and audit guidelines are followed.
Manage relevant reporting of management and financial information for the sales department including all month-end reports, annual budget, and annual commercial plan.
Consistently maintain our Luxury hotel in Barcelona's team informed on upcoming groups, events or VIP clients in a professional and concise manner to anticipate guests' needs and create guest loyalty.
Maintain fluent contact with partners (CVENT, ALHI, HB) to acquire new business and/or close on business and increase awareness of the hotel. Participate in Sales Calls and tradeshows to assigned market(s) with qualified pre-trip agendas and detailed post-trip reports.
Cross Functional collaboration: Operations, Finance, Customer Support, HR.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Bachelor's degree in hospitality or business preferred.
Minimum of 5 years' experience with at least 3 years as a senior manager or ADOS within the hospitality industry.
Excellent spoken and written communications skills in Spanish and English; Catalan is a plus, but not required.
Must have good understanding and experience of group, corporate, leisure and event markets and previous work experience in the Barcelona luxury lifestyle market.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office. Opera and Delphi are a plus.
