As a Network Technician, you will work closely with both internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Technical Program Managers. Your responsibilities will include scaling support of several data center locations and day-to-day assistance with capacity management.
Key Job Responsibilities Work closely with our Network Engineering & Network Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth rollout of established designs and products.
Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows.
Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low-level application interaction.
Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
Specify Power and Cooling requirements and ensure Hardware Racking/Stacking is completed for new equipment.
Complete customer requests via Remedy trouble ticketing system and project management workflows.
Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
Ability to travel within geographical work area is required; some travel outside traditional work area may be requested.
Physical Requirements The ability to sit in front of a computer for an entire scheduled 8-hour shift with appropriate breaks while maintaining a high level of alertness and attention to detail. Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS High school or equivalent diploma
Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
Good command of English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
Knowledge of server hardware and components
Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methodologies
