Our client is seeking anEngineering Specialist to join the Fuels & Chemicals R&D Division of the Research & Development Center (R&D). The Fuels & Chemicals R&D Division is responsible for developing new and improved technologies in hydrocarbon processing, refining, and petrochemicals.The Engineering Specialist's primary role is to lead technology development projects related to the direct conversion of crude oil into petrochemicals. The Specialistshould be familiar with simulation software packages such as Aspen Plus/Aspen HYSYS, capital cost estimation, and techno-economic assessments of R&D projects. In addition, the candidate should possess sound experience in project management and strong communication and mentorship skills.Minimum Requirements PhD degree in Chemical Engineering.At least 10 years of experience in relevant R&D to the refining/petrochemicals industry; experience in crude to chemicals is preferred but not required.Highly knowledgeable in refining and petrochemical conversion processes especially Fluid catalytic cracking (FCC), Hydrocracking, and Steam Cracking.Highly skilled in developing chemical engineering calculations (mass and energy balances, utilities consumption...Etc) and analyzing experimental data.Ability to analyze/comprehend techno-economic assessments of R&D projectsExperience with R&D projects, process development and deployment.Strong interpersonal skills and the capability to work effectively across multiple functional teams.Proven track record of excellence in previous positions held
