About the Role:
In this role, you will work with colleagues in diverse functions including underwriting, risk management, reserving, portfolio management, credit portfolio analytics and other Specialty pricing actuaries. In addition to the day-to-day tasks, you will contribute to activities linked to the elaboration and implementation of the strategy of Global Credit & Surety Reinsurance. You will be part of the C&S Product Centre Team and have ownership for Actuarial Themes in C&S Re, closely cooperating with Specialty Actuarial representatives, Actuarial support teams and Credit Portfolio Analytics within Risk Management. In addition, you'll be responsible for:
Actuarial business review
Use actuarial and data science techniques to develop insights and trends that can be used for risk selection, differentiation and costing improvements.
Conduct quarterly profitability reviews and LR projections, taking an independent view on current pricing and loss adequacy.
Stay current on market dynamics and actuarial developments, including frequency, severity and exposure accumulations trends, and determine how such trends should be accounted for in costings.
Prepare and present detailed reports to senior management and underwriting teams.
Consultation or peer review of strategically important and complex transactions.
Costing methodologies and parameters
Regular assessment of costing methodologies, loss models and costing parameters in accordance with Swiss Re Group standards and business needs.
Collaborate with team members to develop best estimate views and develop compelling recommendations.
Provide and maintain costing memos which document the best practices regarding the costing methodologies of various treaty types and coverages.
Data and tool development
Actively influence and contribute to underwriting tool development.
Oversee data collection, data procurement and data curation for underwriting (e.g. exposure accumulation, ESG).

Additional requirements:
Seeking candidates with a Master's/Bachelor's degree or equivalent in actuarial science or related fields such as mathematics or physics.
3-5 years or more experience in (re)insurance pricing or related actuarial role.
Foundational knowledge and understanding of global macroeconomics, financial markets. Experience and knowledge of credit related products will be preferred.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, familiarity with statistical models, data science techniques, and programming (e.g., R, Python) is a bonus.
Fluency in English is a must, other languages like German, Spanish, or Portuguese are a plus.
Strong proficiency in Excel, actuarial pricing software, databases and tools is indispensable.
