You will be part of the Global Accounting Delivery (GAD) team, where we strive for smart and nimble finance processes by analyzing financials to support the business in the best way. Global Accounting Delivery (GAD) is a team of 400 people operating from six different countries and representing over 30 nationalities! Our focus is to deliver compliant and quality assured financial information faster and smarter to support business decisions. In GAD, dedicated professionals are working in a dynamic and customer focused environment.
Currently, the Cash & Bank (C&B) team is looking for an Accountant to join the Polestar team. Polestar is an all-electric car Swedish brand, which is sold directly and online to consumers. Polestar operates as a start-up within the organization and listed on Nasdaq.

What you'll do
The main purpose of the C&B Accountant is responsible for performing a range of banking and accounting activities to support the company's financial operations. This role involves accurately recording transactions, reconciling bank accounts and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
You will be involved in month-end and year-end closings, perform bank and intercompany loan reconciliations. You will also ensure all bank entries are properly posted into our ERPs so we deliver high quality service and advice to our internal customers that are the different Polestar entities.
Examples of everyday tasks include day-to-day accounting and related questions of varying complexity, process development and management on a global level, as well as always delivering high quality service and advice to customers and stakeholders. You will report to the Cash & Bank Manager for Polestar.
Job Responsibilities:
- Process and record financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and journal entries.
- Verify and reconcile invoices, receipts, and payments to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting and financial procedures.
- Participate in implementing efficiency-enhancing initiatives and ad hoc harmonization projects
- Analysis and reporting
- Provide detailed support to our customers on ad hoc treasury queries
- Collaborate with other departments and teams within the shared service center to ensure accurate and timely financial information exchange.
- Deliver in compliance with current global principles, standards, and frameworks
What you'll bring
You have a degree in Finance or equivalent and 2-3 years' experience in a similar role and have a good knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations. Experience working with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) is positively valued. Though this is not a requirement, we highly value candidates who bring this expertise, as it demonstrates a strong understanding of regulatory compliance and financial controls.
Other requirements:
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- You are an open-minded team player, curious of better ways of doing things.
- You have excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to plan and prioritize as having a positive mindset.
- You have preferably been working with SAP FICO and Excel.
- You have a good level of English (C1).
