Position Title: Buyer
Job Description Summary: Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team.
Purpose Statement: Individuals are expected to be self-sufficient in managing the procurement execution of assigned goods, commodities and/or services in accordance with the quality, delivery and pricing as detailed in Purchasing SOPs and WIs.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and source suppliers for required materials, components, and services.
Obtain and review quotes, negotiate pricing and terms, and place purchase orders.
Ensure timely delivery of goods and services in alignment with production schedules.
Own and effectively manage an assigned portfolio following sourcing strategy and using established sourcing methodology and tools.
Lead evaluation and selection of suppliers within tail portfolio, understanding the business needs.
Minimum Requirements: Responsible for placing and authorizing purchase orders within assigned limits. Expedite orders, track deliveries, resolve shipping errors, and maintain accurate records following established guidelines.
