We are recruiting an International Bid Manager to join our team based in Madrid.
As part of the Rail Business, the International Bid Manager will be responsible for the bid process for rail projects on behalf of Siemens. The bid manager will manage bids, including reviewing technical work scopes & terms and conditions, developing bid strategies, bid programs, and preparing written documentation & presentations.
What are my responsibilities? Responsible for developing good customer relationships.Reviewing project requirement specifications, technical work scopes and proposed contract terms and conditions.Establishing high-performing bid teams consisting of the required expertise to accurately support the bid.Planning, management and control of all bid activities and ensuring the creation and maintenance of the bid records.Deliver all aspects of the tender process, including information, presentation, accuracy and submittal of formal bid and prequalification responses to maximize success.Identifying and advising the management team of any commercial, financial or technical risk for bids or bid opportunities.Undertake client presentations, trials and testing at either pre or post qualification stages.Continuous improvement of the job and activities in line with the Siemens Values.Ensuring contract terms and conditions are reviewed and negotiated accordingly.Preparation of procurement plans, identifying preferred suppliers and subcontractors at bid stage.Prepare and issue subcontract & supplier inquiries and review tender responses ensuring validity.Assessing and benchmarking tenders against market rates.Managing the build-up of pricing models and preparing target costs including internal approvals.Lead or directly undertake/contribute to the preparation of accurate project estimates ensuring that targeted packages of work are secured with a profitable potential.Lead and assist in all relevant aspects of negotiations leading to the successful award of packages of work.Ensure compliance with pre-commencement procedures, for execution and completion, to minimize liabilities and risks.Responsible for the detailed bid handover, including pricing, schedule, and procurement strategies to the project/program team.Represent Siemens at meetings as required with the client, main contractor, project professional team, and other relevant decision-makers.Assist in obtaining opportunities for Siemens to bid and secure further projects with a profitable potential.Continuous improvement of bidding practices and procedures in line with Siemens values. What do I need to qualify for the role? Strong management skills & ability in terms of written & verbal communication; presentation skills; problem identification, categorization and solving; people skills; customer management and negotiation skills.Extensive bid management at a similar level within large multi-disciplinary or turnkey railway projects within the rail sector.International experienced bid manager for 2-3 years.Previous commercial and technical experience associated with railway distribution.Degree qualified or equivalent in engineering.Good presentation, time management, and organizational skills.The role holder will have the ability to influence with excellent management skills.Proficient in all Microsoft packages and good working knowledge of programme software.English & Spanish proficiency.
