POSITION OVERVIEW The Barcelona Assistant Site Director (ASD) is a full time contracted position responsible for assisting CIS Abroad with on site programming and operations in Barcelona, Spain. A few of the ASD's primary responsibilities include: overseeing logistics, helping to maintain positive partner/university relations, and student support services and operations for CIS Abroad in Barcelona. The ASD will work with US based staff, and Spain based staff to ensure that the company is delivering safe, consistent, and high value programs that are in line with the values and the mission of the organization. This individual must be legally able to work in Barcelona and must live in or near the city.
SPECIFIC DUTIES Student Support Assist in the coordination of arrival logistics and in the running of the program orientations (pre-arrival and on-site)Engage with students on-site, following the guidelines in the 'Checklist for Onsite Delivery' according to the On site Service ExpectationsAirport PickupsWarm Program Welcome Deliver The Local Life Excursions / ActivitiesAssist to conduct check insAssist to Farewell CelebrationsAssist to deliver Program Evaluations Remain in close contact with students throughout their program addressing issues when they ariseRespond to student's questions through Whatsapp groupMaximize the student experience with resources and reflectionsOversee cultural program deliveryHelp to remedy any issues should they ariseHelp resolve issues that happen in student housingHelp to check students into housing, and give them a housing orientation Assist with Health and Safety Mitigate/manage risks in the local environment, including potential issues on program excursionsFollow local safety and emergency protocolCommunicate current and reliable information concerning health and safety to program participants and CIS Abroad StaffRemain reachable by mobile phone when program participants are experiencing a true emergencyWork closely with local resources, Site Director, US-based International Operations Management and/or emergency response team as problems or emergencies happen on siteEnforce the CIS Abroad code of conduct when appropriate Marketing and Promotion Take pictures and record video when delivering program activitiesShare pictures and videos through our Asset's managerSchedule and Publish content in the local Instagram Account Communications Check emails regularly – and agrees to respond to emails within 24 hours to acknowledge receipt, even if an answer is not immediately available. Remain available by telephone throughout working hours and check voicemails regularly when this is not possible.Checking WhatsApp business and responding to students SUCCESS TARGETS Incident report protocol is followed 100% of the timeOn-site Risk Management plan remains updated and is followed 100% of the timeCIS Checklist implementation - on time and on budget, 90% of the timeExcursions are delivered on budget and on schedule REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Excellent computer skills. Functional knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Suite.Bachelor's degreeFluency in English and SpanishExperience working with international students, preferably US university students in the field of International EducationAptitude to thrive without a routine or daily supervisionTeam player with a rockin' sense of humorMust have a positive attitudeOutgoing, flexible, reliable, honest with an open mindMust be willing to undergo background checkLive in Barcelona PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Good photography skillsComfortable working with tight deadlines in non-traditional office settingsInternational study/intern/volunteer/work/travel experienceFirst Aid training COMPENSATION $2,500 USD per month with an average of 160 hours per month plus flexibility upon emergencies.
