Job Title: Associate Director – Workplace Enablement Career Level - F Introduction to Role: Are you passionate about technology and its potential to impact lives? As an Associate Director for Workplace Enablement, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, implementing, and delivering global IT solutions. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the Workplace Enablement Solutions Engineering team and own the technical roadmap. You will work closely with Enterprise Architects and the Workplace Enablement Services Director to steer technology decisions and deliver change across the service portfolio.
Accountabilities:As the Associate Solutions Engineering Director, you will lead the design, development, implementation, and support of AstraZeneca end user device Information Services solutions. This involves planning, analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of end user facing solutions across several technology focus areas. You will also provide recommendations on enhancements, monitor performance, and support maintenance of deployed solutions.

Provide team and people leadership for the Devices Solutions Engineering team enabling strong and cohesive delivery across the team and driving personal growth and development for all team members.Define and directs the Solutions Engineering activities and ensures that Solutions Engineering team delivers subject matter expertise and best practices to IT projects, IT change management teams, and initiatives of customer facing IT organisations.Lead teams to complete complex technology projects and initiatives.Will own the technology standards and roadmap for a specified set of technology capabilities.Will help define and drive best practice across the Solutions Engineering team.Works with other AZ teams or preferred third-party suppliers to provide strategic and innovative technology solutions aligned with AstraZeneca business needs.Lead solutions and other technical reviews.Provides technical input to business cases, Request for Proposals, supplier selection and evaluation of proposals.Leads risk management for risks/issues identified in third party supplier impact assessments.Ensures infrastructure and solution lifecycle maintenance needs are identified and managed.Maintains awareness and knowledge of industry trends and proactively identifies and drive identification of opportunities to be leveraged in Information Technology solutions.Works with Domain Architecture to define business IT solutions, ensuring their alignment with business strategies and priorities, as well as expected target benefits.Leads effort to evaluate, plan, design, and implement enterprise IT solutions and oversees the design and documentation of IT solutions components.Leads, Coaches, and Mentors their Solutions Engineering team(s).Leads the maintenance of solutions, incident/problem identification, and resolution using ITIL methods and processes.Leads efforts to ensure that modified solutions interact appropriately, areas of impact are considered and addressed and meet performance requirements.Drives the planning of activities associated with implementation, release, maintenance and support of IT solutions.Essential Skills/Experience:Degree level education or equivalent experience in computer science or similar experienceSignificant experience in an Information Services/Information Technology environment with good business acumenProven experience of leading and growing technical IT teamsProven experience of developing and handling relationships with 3rd party suppliersExperience with multiple various types of solutions delivery (SaaS, on premise, etc.)People leadershipEvidence of leading, shaping and crafting innovative solutions and driving any changesAbility to interpret and communicate technical information into business languageExpertise in Agile Software Development techniques and MethodologiesGuide in solutions design patterns and processesSignificant experience in leading global teams related to functional area, and demonstrate technical SME and proficiency to technically lead teamsExcellent industry awareness of technology trends.When we put unexpected teams in the same room, we unleash ambitious thinking with the power to encourage life-changing medicines.
