Job Description The General Counsel will serve as the chief legal advisor for Trust Wallet, providing comprehensive legal oversight and ensuring the company operates within the legal frameworks of the jurisdictions it operates in. This role requires a seasoned legal professional with deep expertise in blockchain technology, cryptocurrency regulations, and corporate governance. The General Counsel will play a critical role in guiding the company's legal strategy, managing legal risks, and ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Legal Strategy and Leadership: Develop and implement the company's legal strategy in alignment with business objectives.Provide strategic legal advice to the executive team on a wide range of issues including regulatory compliance, intellectual property, contracts, and litigation.Lead and manage the legal department, including internal and external legal resources. Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and interpret regulatory developments related to blockchain and cryptocurrency across multiple jurisdictions.Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including securities laws, anti-money laundering (AML), know your customer (KYC) regulations, and data privacy laws.Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and industry associations. Corporate Governance: Advise the Board of Directors on corporate governance matters.Ensure the company's corporate governance framework meets best practices and regulatory requirements.Oversee the preparation and management of board meetings, minutes, and resolutions. Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including partnership agreements, licensing agreements, and vendor contracts.Implement and maintain a robust contract management system. Risk Management: Identify and assess legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes.Provide guidance on risk management policies and procedures.
