Job Description Provide Senior Technical Expertise to stress team related to Primary Structure during preliminary sizing and analysis phase through detailed analysis and documentation phase.Perform stress, static strength, fatigue, and damage tolerance for complete air vehicle structure.Creation of vehicle specifications & testing requirements to support structural requirements for air vehicle structures, mechanisms and subsystems.Share and Apply Senior Technical Structural Analysis Experience with the stress team that results in the definition of updates to the vehicle wings, fuselage, empennage, landing gear and subsystem integration.Responsible for structural analysis and substantiation of extremely complex parts and major assemblies.Responsible for analysis documentation with sufficient detail to support certification to EASA-CS23 or equivalent.Support structural analysis requirements definition, specifications definition, development testing and evaluation of all the structures and mechanisms of the system. Share and Apply Senior Technical Structural Analysis Experience to substantiate integration of all the structures and mechanisms with all other subsystems and components of the vehicle.
Support the development of the operations, maintenance and logistics philosophies for the system. Participate as a member of the technical team in the establishment of development processes for the vehicle. Collaborate with the appropriate departments to develop and maintain a development plan that supports organizational needs.
Assess and communicate risks associated with technologies used in the design and development of the structures and mechanisms. Ensure development adheres to applicable aerospace structural standards for certification to EASA CS23 or similar standards. Support advanced conceptual layouts, assembly layouts and detailed design work with stress, fatigue, and damage tolerance documentation.
Candidate shall have the following: 10+ years of structural analysis as a Senior Expert in Structural Analysis Methods, including large Nastran Models, of advanced composite structures (monolithic and sandwich panels) and metallic components.Desired skills include familiarity with detailed analysis procedures, FEM analysis, NASTRAN, PATRAN(APEX or HYPERMESH), FEM quality checks.Familiar with hand calculations using Bruhn, Niu, Peterson, Roark.Layout sizing, structural integrity evaluations, durability and damage tolerance of aircraft structures, dynamic evaluations, and weight control.Extensive experience in Structural Analysis documentation is required, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development of large NASTRAN Models of composite and metallic primary aircraft structures.Candidate needs knowledge pertaining to CS-22 or CS-23 (Part 23) certification and efforts required to meet certification.Static structural test experience.Familiarity with rapid prototyping philosophy (i.e. implement technologies to quickly produce multiple iterations of a component for testing and evaluation), experience in developing prototype aircraft.Primary responsibility is performing and sharing technical analytical expertise.Responsible for all types of structural parts as well as assembly analysis associated with installation of these parts in the air vehicle.Preferred Tools / Process Experience PATRAN / NASTRANHand calculation analysis with Excel.
