Purpose: The role of Account Manager Energy reports directly to the National Sales Manager - Energy & Sustainability.
This team member is responsible for supporting our Account Managers & Business Development Specialists, managing existing renewable customer accounts, and developing new business in the energy market segment with a focus on solar projects, battery storage, and electric vehicle charging & charging infrastructure.
This team member will be working with all branches throughout Canada.
Major Responsibilities: Work as part of the Graybar Energy team to grow business with existing customers and attract new customers to Graybar.
Identify and review market trends by attending industry-related events, researching new opportunities, and networking with key industry personnel.
Handle incoming and outgoing customer & supplier telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner while selling the complete Graybar Solution.
Travel as required to Graybar branches to support customers and provide training on Graybar's offerings in the Energy and EV market.
Prepare project quotations and customer bids, coordinating with multiple Graybar resources and suppliers.
Enter opportunities, leads, and contact information in Salesforce.
Handle written correspondence received from and sent to customers in a timely manner.
Assist and support Account Managers throughout Graybar by providing technical support to customers and end users.
Continue to work with customers post-sale to resolve problems and provide support efficiently and effectively.
Provide customer feedback to the Energy & Sustainability Sales Manager in a timely fashion.
Participate in training sessions, trade shows, branch meetings, and sales meetings as requested.
Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions and recommend new items for stock.
Deal with product-related problems such as returns, defects, and warranty claims.
Research and cold call customers as directed.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Preferred Skills & Experience: Three years of relevant sales or industry experience.
Experience in design or engineering of solar projects.
A passion for sales and a drive to actively seek out new business.
Self-motivated with an understanding of energy technologies as an asset.
Passionate about emerging electrical technologies with a desire for continued learning.
Broad knowledge of industry products and services, with the ability to effectively present these to our customers and staff.
Demonstrate honesty and integrity.
Exhibit excellent time management and organizational skills.
Self-starter with the ability to prioritize work while operating with minimal supervision.
Possess strong relationship-building skills to cultivate and develop customer loyalty.
